Barnabas Wilhelm is an austrian-english director, photographer and storyteller. With his sense for detail, his drive to find real authenticity and a unique sensitivity for performance and story, he makes films that move you emotionally and strike you visually. His passion for film and storytelling already developed early on in his childhood, and by the time he turned teenager he had already won a few local Short film competitions. He then studied directing at the prestigious ‚Drama Centre London’ where he further honed his craft through directing fellow acting students such as Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) and Alexander Dreymon (Last Kingdom). Barnabas then worked as a Directors assistant on commercials with Ridley Scott, Alejandro Gonzales Iñáritu, Martin Campbell and Jake Nava before continuing his own path. After several Short-films and music videos, Barnabas eventually entered the world of global advertising where he has directed global Campaigns for brands such as HP, BERSHKA, VORWERK and POAN. Barnabas is enthusiastic about pretty much everything and he brings a real energy to each project, always striving for in depth emotional truth, brilliant performances and creating a distinct visual language that has a cinematic touch.
